I grabbed this 2 pack of heated chicken waterer bases for our coop, and they've solved the frozen water problem during cold snaps. The thermostatic design kicks in only when needed, which keeps energy use reasonable. They fit both metal and plastic waterers, so I could use them with what we already had. This one will be used on a dog dish for ducks. If they included a double sided tape or self-adhesive this would be perfect. It does work extremely well.
